SpaceCamp: A group of teens must put aside their differences
and work together in order to survive after a space shuttle mishap
leaves them stranded in outer space.
SpaceCamp is like The Breakfast
Club at zero gravity! Well, maybe not quite, but I found this
movie pretty darn entertaining, most likely because it is totally
cheesy. Made before the famed shuttle explosion in the 80's, this
film is supposed to be a family movie able to be enjoyed by children
and parents alike. There isn't the slightest attempt at realism
here, so break out your suspension-of-disbelief goggles! If that
doesn't work, try taking out your brain. It's so poignant it will
bring tears to your eyes!
Mitchell Anderson plays Banning, a not-so-nice guy who is
in the movie for about a minute total. He's in the background
in a couple shots. He has one major scene where he gets to bully
one of the younger campers. He does a pretty good job, although
the role isn't very demanding.
